Mission Completed!  from Big Finish News RSS  (2009/2/20 6:12)
Recording is now complete on Mission to Magnus , the second release in the upcoming Lost Stories series from Big Finish Productions. Written by Philip Martin, and originally planned to be made as part of Doctor Who ?s 23rd season in 1985, the story was shelved when the show went into a hiatus. Now, 24 years later, Martin has adapted his original scripts for audio, with Colin Baker reprising his role as the Sixth Doctor, Nicola Bryant as Peri and Nabil Shaban as the alien slug-like trader Sil. Nicholas Briggs (Voice of the Daleks) portrays the Ice Warriors, who are attempting to take over the planet Magnus for their own ends.
Noel's BAFTA win  from Big Finish News RSS  (2009/2/13 5:45)
Congratulations to the star of Dalek Empire: The Fearless and upcoming Stargate SG-1 audio story First Prime Noel Clarke. The Doctor Who actor, seen across three seasons as Mickey Smith, picked up the Orange Rising Star Award at the BAFTAs after writing, directing and starring in the movie Adulthood . Thanking Who fans in his acceptance speech, Clarke was delighted to be honoured, and beat off competition from Frost/Nixon ?s Rebecca Hall, RocknRolla ?s Toby Kebbell, former Arrested Development star Michael Cera and Michael Fassbender, recently seen in director Steve McQueen?s acclaimed Hunger . After winning, he offered this partially familiar advice: "For all the young fans and people out there voting for me out there, work hard and you can do it, I have three words, yes we can!"
Doctor Who: The Lost Stories  from Big Finish News RSS  (2009/2/10 12:53)
Big Finish is to launch a new series of audio adventures in January 2010 with Doctor Who: The Lost Stories . Colin Baker stars as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri in these adaptations of scripts that were commissioned but never made for television in the mid-80s. ?It?s well known that, when Doctor Who was given an enforced hiatus in 1984, plans were very advanced on the upcoming Season 23,? says Lost Stories producer David Richardson. ?None of those scripts ever made it to the screen. ?Some of them - like The Nightmare Fair by Graham Williams and Mission to Magnus by Philip Martin - were novelised. Others, however, have remained locked away in their respective writers lofts for well over 20 years. It?s taken a lot of (very enjoyable) detective work, but I?ve managed to source seven unmade adventures that will now finally come brilliantly to life on audio. ?When I phoned Colin Baker to propose the idea he couldn?t have been more delighted. In fact, he?d actually pl ...
