Isskar - The Writer's Diary  from Big Finish News RSS  (2009/1/29 5:54)
Simon Guerrier, the writer of Doctor Who : The Key 2 Time - The Judgement of Isskar , opens up his diary of the production... 18 December 2008 As detailed in my post about the writing of Home Truths , it began with drinks at Jason Haigh-Ellery?s swanky club in London. He, David Richardson, Nigel Fairs and me discuss the wheeze of a new mini-series. The Doctor will once again have to search out the six segments of the Key to Time, over three releases. He?ll be helped by two living ?tracers?, who?ll develop over the series. I bagsy the first story because I really want to create a new assistant for the Doctor. We knock some ideas back and forth and I think I have a rough idea of the story. But it needs to be written quickly, as we want to book Peter Davison just after he has come out from his stint on Spamalot! Later Joseph Lidster joins us and we drink Champagne. Joe is glamorous like that. 19 December I send in my first, 1,964-word outline for a story called ?TBC?. That?s no ...
Zara Speaks!  from Big Finish News RSS  (2009/1/27 9:08)
Actress Laura Doddington has appeared in many stage and radio plays, and on TV has been seen in The Bill , Doctors and as PC Wood in Prime Suspect: The Final Act . After attending auditions, Laura was cast in the Key 2 Time season as Zara, one of two sentient beings created to track down the hidden segments of the device. We held auditions for the roles of Amy and Zara at the start of 2008. How did you find that whole process? Quite nerve racking to begin with! You were running a little behind so I got to see the competition and it?s safe to say I am glad this was an audio ? had it been TV I wouldn?t have stood a chance. Lots of very beautiful ladies! Also at the time I was reading for both roles, I felt I was right for Zara but wanted to give Amy my best shot. The actual audition was a really nice audition! And it?s not often I can say that, nerves usually get the better of me. But I felt prepared and you were all really relaxed witch helps a lot! Then the rest is bit of a blu ...

Companion Chronicles - Season Three Update  from Big Finish News RSS  (2009/1/20 10:20)
There has been a change to the running order for two upcoming Companion Chronicles . The Mahogany Murderers , in which Trevor Baxter and Christopher Benjamin reprise their roles of Victorian sleuths Professor Litefoot and Henry Gordon Jago , has been moved up one month to May 2009 . Ferril?s Folly ,  featuring Mary Tamm as the first incarnation of Romana , originally filled the May slot, but has been put back in the schedule until 2010 . ?Ferril?s Folly is a lovely story by Peter Anghelides,? says producer David Richardson. ?But it is set during the original Key to Time season and we felt that it clashed thematically with our current Peter Davison season.? Mary Tamm will return as Romana, however, in Stealers from Saiph, which is written by former Doctor Who books editor Nigel Robinson. That story will be released in June 2009, and brings the third season of The Companion Chronicles to an end.
